Biography
Swinging my leg over a bike to race competitively for the first time in 2006, I knew right away that I was hooked. Though my introduction to competitive cycling came by way of triathlon, I progressively found myself wanting to dedicate more and more time to riding. Hailing from Miami, FL I enjoyed the long, arid group rides down along the Everglades and up and over bridges about as much as one could until my wife and I finally picked up and relocated our lives to Seattle last year. Though I have many tri’s under my belt and a smattering of cross and criterium experience, 2012 will be my first dedicated “road racing” season and I can’t think of a better team to do it with than SCCA/Starbucks. I’m looking forward to the challenges ahead, from learning the tactics to figuring out these weird things called “hills” (I’m from Miami, remember?)
Above all, I am truly honored to race under the banner of the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance. It is easy for one to get caught up in the cycling lifestyle – the training, the gear, the competition… At the end of the day, I feel it is very important to strive to give back and that is a huge part of why the SCCA/Starbucks team exists.
