Team: Barbara Wilkie
Biography
Barbara is originally from Johnstown, Pennsylvania, not far from Floyd Landis’ Mennonite community – and as everyone knows, folks from PA are fast! Nonetheless, Barbara has lived in Seattle long enough to consider it home now. She developed the competitive cycling bug after completing the Tour de Tucson and decided to join the Starbucks Team where she’s starting her third season as a Cat 4 road racer. Along the way she’s found a love for stage races because of their variety and challenge, and Walla Walla is always a standout event for her.
In the short time that Barbara has been racing, she has acquired some notable placings. In 2006 her team took gold in the Washington State Team Time Trial Championships. She also took first place in the Washington State Senior Games Individual Time Trial, and third place in the Road Race. At the 2007 National Senior Games in Louisville, KY, Barbara gathered 3 Silver medals in the 5K Time Trial, 10K Time Trial, and 20K Road Race.
